Tips for your

visit to the Klimahaus

This page lists all the important tips for your visit to the Klimahaus climate museum. Should you still have any questions, we would be more than happy to help you. Just send us an email with your request to info@klimahaus-bremerhaven.de.

Validity of your ticket

You can choose between two types of tickets:

The flexible ticket can be redeemed once at any time within 2 years and is perfect for giving as a gift.

The time slot ticket grants one-time access in the selected time slot. The length of stay is not limited.

Proper clothing

Although you will experience every climate zone in our exhibition ‘The Journey’, you will not need any special clothing for your visit to the Klimahaus! Although the exhibition areas are mostly warm, transition zones cushion temperature changes.

Rucksacks, bags and coats

Items such as large bags or rucksacks (max. 35 x 27 x 13 cm) are not permitted in the exhibition but can be left free of charge in the cloakroom. Coats can be left in the cloakroom for a fee of 1,50 EUR. Children’s coats can be left free of charge.

Photographs

You may take photographs of the exhibition for non-commercial use. However, please avoid using a tripod and a flash in the entire climate museum.

Pets

Pets (with the exception of guide dogs) are not allowed into the climate museum. We cannot take care of your pet during your visit.

Security

Please be advised that the exhibition is under video surveillance for your own safety.

Accessibility

More than 90% of the paths in our exhibition are accessible to visitors with prams and people with limited mobility. We have our own wheelchairs, which you can borrow. Carers accompanying severely disabled people will be admitted free of charge if the disability card is accordingly marked with a ‘B’.

Visiting the exhibition with children

The Klimahaus exhibition is open to all age groups. Raised platforms, which enable smaller children to view the exhibits close up, can be found throughout the exhibition. Thus, even our small visitors will not miss a thing.

If you feel hungry

Warm meals, snacks, ice cream and drinks at moderate prices are available at the Längengrad restaurant and Café südwärts. Please consume any food and drinks you bring with you on our spacious landscaped stairs in the foyer.

Animals in the exhibition

Please take care of our rare animals. In particular, please do not touch any open bodies of water and do not disturb the fish.

Animal feedings

Currently there are the following feedings:

Cameroon, freshwater basin: Mon, Wed, Fri. at 11:30 a.m.

Cameroon, Waran basin: Mon, Wed, Fri at 2:00 p.m.

Lighting

Our exhibition consists mainly of staged scenery and partially contains twilight and night scenes. Therefore, parts of our exhibition are poorly lit. We recommend visiting the exhibition with a companion if you suffer from orientation problems in dark rooms or to approach our staff on site.

Recommendation for the best time to visit

In the pre-holiday period, there can sometimes be a heavier flow of visitors from school classes in the mornings. We therefore recommend an afternoon visit during this time.
