Bremerhaven Declaration on the Role of Museums in Addressing the Climate Crisis

The „Bremerhaven Declaration on the Role of Museums in Addressing the Climate Crisis“ was developed during the symposium.

The background was a paper with 10 points Henry McGhie (founder Curating Tomorrow) built from a survey of museum professionals working on climate change and combined with the UNFCCC process.

During the symposium professionals from museums all over the world discussed the best ways to address the climate crisis in exhibitions.

Large parts of the symposium were recorded and are available on the Klimahaus youtube-channel.

The declaration is supposed, on one hand, to motivate museums from all fields to address the climate crisis. On the other hand, it is a call to political actors for support museums in this important Task.
