An island in transition
A solitary island between the two worlds, between Siberia and the American continent, between tradition and the contemporary, is a place where many species gather and rest. The people here – the Yupik – have been living from seal hunting and whaling for thousands of years.
In the Bering Strait, on the edge of the Arctic, you will come face to face with a culture stretched between a society of hunters and foragers and the “American way of life”.
