“Solar fire“ is at the forefront of the FIRE section. The sun is our source of energy; it is the power behind our weather and climate, and guarantees life on earth.
Before you join a ray of sunlight on its journey, see how it originates inside the sun. Enormous amounts of energy are released every second. Then they begin their journey: you join them on their way through space. Only a small fraction of the sun’s energy reaches the earth and penetrates the layers of the atmosphere. On the earth this solar energy is transformed into motion – the movement of air, of water and on land. Weather and climate result from an intricate flux of different factors.
